PBC Board Nomination Committee Looking For 2024 Board Candidates

Hello fellow Pickleball People and Aspiring Pickleball BC Association (PBC) Board Members!!

Given our 2024 AGM is just around the corner and planning for FY 2024 has started, amongst other things we have established a Board Nomination Committee. The Committee is reaching out to our members for applications from qualified nominees (see below) who are interested in being elected to and serving on our Board of Directors at our upcoming February 2024 AGM.

We know you love this sport and we are hoping that you are looking forward to giving back to our provincial pickleball community in a meaningful way – can we join forces to help in that endeavor?

A few points about our PBC Board of Directors and its current needs:

1. We need someone to focus on the youth aspect of pickleball in BC including socializing our school and association grant programs and undertaking new initiatives in this area
2. We currently work with viaSport and Sport BC who offer advantages that pickleball in general and PBC can take advantage of – maybe something that you can help with?
3. We really want to expand our board representation in BC geographical areas including northern BC, the Kootenays, the Cariboo and other areas
4. We would love to balance our board membership in terms of increasing our diversity to better reflect our provincial membership representation
5. You will be someone looking to further the sport of pickleball in BC through your personal love of the game, your connections in our pickleball community, your personal or professional expertise in some form that is relevant, or in other ways

We love this sport and as you know, it is continuing to grow exponentially everywhere in the province. We now have over 16,000 PBC members with a forecast of 20,000 in 2024. As a result we now need more help on the Board, or as a contributor, assisting us in delivering programs and services to our members. What a great way to give back!
